The shakedown franklins was such a suprise,i remember bobby lookin over at jerry suprised as well during that transition into franlins, the estimated hes gone truckin section/ jam was sooooo sweeeet.also remeber the drumz /space being particulary trippy, then all the rest was gravy stella was real nice.even casey jones pulled into the station, awesome show!!!! My wife was 5 months pregnant when we gathered with some friends for this show.
So I guess it would be safe to say that this show was my daughter’s first concert. It has always been one of my favorite shows out of many. Alligator Alley was a small intimate venue and the tribe was stomping the grounds that night. Somehow the powers that be decided that the floor of the Alley needed seating which kinda cramped our style so a small group started a kind of conga line which eventually turned into a continuous line of undulating bodies that surrounded the seating area (basketball court) then we just piled the chairs up in the back of the room and made us a dance floor. This had the security completely freaked but they either were too afraid or not willing to make the effort to intervene.
It was fun to watch. The band scoped out the resignation point of the building and masterfully used that old basketball gymnasium like another instrument, it was beautiful.

I’m very thankful to have found this recording. Set 1 is a mild, 3-star, well-played but thoroughly unremarkable hour. I'd like to say there would be a keeper from this one, but there really isn't. Nothing really.wrong. here, but this one goes right down the sink and leaves nothing behind.Set 2 - ahhhhhh, now,.here. are the goods - one long, giant, gorgeous, 5-star, Mt.
When this band was on its game, there was none better. This aud is of superb quality and if you tweak the levels on your stereo just right it will sound like the band is in your living room. Yeah, the second set is ridiculous, especially the Shakedown Franklin's, which is worth the download by itself.
The first set is pretty rockin' too, with a real nice Candyman. The only lowpoint is the Lost Sailor Saint of Circumstance suite, which kind of drags. I guess Bobby had to be a rockstar because it doesn't seem like the band is into it. However, overall the band is kicking off real groovy, laid back vibes and Jerry is pretty much on fire, hitting his licks with precision. I don't know what they were on that night, but it was good.
Yeah, this is a sweet audience tape and a hot show (thanks for the list of other fine recordings to check out, Robert).I dig Bobby's riffing a la Richards in Alabama Getaway. And the sick transition between Shakedown and Franklins is.
Well, it's sick. It's wrong on a million levels. But it's right on one level and that's all that matters. Jerry takes the gloves off for the second solo in Franklin's and blows the rest of the band off the stage. And what's that? A Sugaree riff?
Dude reels it in and gracefully gives the band a fighting chance during his third solo.I miss Brent.sniff. (you know what I mean). Man, what a sweet sound!
Thank you Jim Wise! A truly great audience tape.
WHO NEEDS THE SOUNDBOARD?? IMO a nice crispy AUD like this one is far superior to any SBD.I agree w/ one of the earlier posts, the '79-83 era is my current fav as well. As it was probably the least well represented era in my tape (remember those days?) collection. There are an incredible amount of amazing AUDs from this time period! The Shakedown - Franklin's is great!
Even a nice little vocal jam at the end of Shakedown. Hell the Dough Knees is freakin' awesome! This whole show pretty much smokes! See for yourself. There is East Coast pep at this show as the audience tries to rhythmically clap on whatever it can keep time with.
Jerry's voice is real nice here, and he throws in some extra notes on intro's and transitions that just tell me he is having fun. There is also lots of nice harmony between Brent and Bobby on here.I like the song selection because you get a little bit of everything, Stella blue shines! This crowd earned the Casey Jones.I was in 8th grade during this tour and I am pretty sure this is around the time when somebody fell off the rafters at MSG, so my mom would not let me go see the Dead. I had to settle for'Yes'in the round which was very cool but it would delay my reckoning by a few years.
Frankly, I have no idea how this AUD recording could be so fine. The sound is awesome. You feel like you are actually there in the venue and yet the balance between crowd and band is perfect. This one reminds me that part of what makes the music is the audience. When the crowd breaks out at those critical spots (what a long strange trip its been, for example on Truck'n) you can feel the band respond kind. WOW!!!The concert is tight and energized throughout.Just six more wordsDOWNLOAD IT, DOWNLOAD IT, DOWNLOAD IT. I would like to thank Wavey Davey for nailing it in his review. This show created this deadhead.
I still don't know why people call the venue Alligator Alley Gymnasium, it's simply the Florida Gymnasium and was where the men's basketball team played before the O'Connell Center was built. It was a beautiful brisk night. My date and I started off this show in the bleachers above Phil's side of the stage with our own set of speakers which were tuned sweetly. The floor was one third chairs (up front) and two-thirds dance floor.
It was a sea of people, not standing and facing the stage, these folks were crazy, whirling dervs creating an undulating visual from our seats. I left my date to go to the men's room on the other side of the floor.
That was the last she saw of me. On the way back to my seat Mama Tried kicked in and I got swept away by the crowd.
Boy was she peaved and bored so I guess it was good thing she moved on soon after. THIS SHOW WILL SWEEP YOU AWAY!!! As Robert Hunter has been quoted as saying something to the effect that any 'tape' of a show is just a miniscule artifact/replica of the actual experience. The really clean soundboards that come out are otherworldly, but the energy in this audience tape 'captures' the essence of the real experience better than cleaner technologies.
Cleaner technologies take the show and mount it like an insect in perfect formaldehyde museum quality beneath the glass, but this show is still kicking, still buzzing, still flying, and it is everpresent. Enthusiasm is the word. Oh yeah baby - turn the f.
up. When I first started collecting tapes some 23 years ago (egads!), I had a copy of this night's second set.
It was like my 3rd cassette. I loved it then, and it still draws me in every time I hear it.While the entire show is top-notch, the defining moment for me is the Drums Space Other One. As a drummer/percussionist, this ranks as some of the best drums I've ever heard the boys do. During Space, the drummers stay on stage and the group produces an improvisation that sounds perfectly rehearsed.
It's Twilight Zone material. There comes a point where everybody starts building and building up, Phil starts sliding up and down the neck, and then this burst of a volcano of sound emerges with LOTS of freakiness from Brent. Shiver Me Timbers! Then it gets nice and quiet, and Phil drops the intro bombs to The Other One, and we're off to the races. Brent startes ripping these lines on the Hammond B-3 like there's no tomorrow.
I've listened to a lot of shows, but I keep coming back to this segment, because it is simply too enjoyable to keep on the shelf for very long.Oh, in the For What It's Worth department: I have a soundboard of the second set of this night. It's hissy and there are some pitch problems; the audience is MUCH better. I talked with David Gans about the entire November 1980 run a few years ago, and he claimed that no soundboards of the entire run existed in the vault. Well, they exist somewhere, as we have seen the emergence of SBD's from the 3 other shows during this run. If anybody REALLY wants a copy of the SBD version of this night, drop me a line, but you will not be as satisfied as you are with Jim's audience recording.Sean K. This is a great show! Just so very, very good.
1980 was a very good year. They were clearly firing on all cylinders here after their monster Warfield/Radio City runs and although this doesn't have an acoustic set, it still smokes-perhaps even more than any of the previous months shows. The crowd is clearly just as raucous and appreciative as any from Radio City. The entire 1st set is awesome, from the opening notes of Alabama all the way through.
Ahh, for the days when they'd do Althea and SailorSaint in the 1st set. Lost Sailor was a great song, it's too bad Bobby dropped it but there are so many great versions from 1980 and this is one.
They sound so fresh here, it's hard to imagine the disintegration of Jerry that was already happening. Also, this tape is about as good as it gets, very clear and intimate. I think Phil sounds a little light in the mix because that's just how he came across in those days, more of a presence than a really clearly defined instrumental voice, but he definitely shows up in the 2nd with a nice intro to the Other One, and Stella Blue is just flat-out gorgeous. Oh yeah, the Drumz is blistering, too. You seriously just can't miss with this one. This is.hands down.
the best AUD recording I have ever heard. Kudos and a big thank you to Mr. And the performance is dripping with gooey goodness.Set 2 is on fire!
These are not the longest versions of these songs that you'll ever hear, but the Dead more than make up for it with balls-to-the-wall rock and roll. As the previous reviewer suggests, the Shakedown-Franklin's transition is something to behold. And Jerry wails on his solos. Get this show! Even if you're a SBD junkie (like me), you will not be disappointed!
Those who appreciate the aggressive look and wind-cutting power of the frame-mounted shark nose fairing and dual Daymaker ™ Reflector LED headlamps on the Road Glide ®Special model wouldn’t ride anything else. And now the ride gets even more aggressive thanks to the all-new Milwaukee-Eight ™ 107 engine, all-new suspension and Reflex Linked Brembo ® brakes. The Special features the top-of-the-line 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated GPS and the BOOM! ™ Box 6.5 GT audio system, standard ABS, a gloss black inner fairing and color-matched fairing skirt. It’s time to make your own assault on the wind.
2017 - The All-New Milwaukee-Eight™ EngineThe sound of the Harley-Davidson ® 45-degree V-Twin rings through the history of motorcycling in an unbroken line stretching back to 1909. Each one improving on the one before it. Unmistakable in their sound. Unparalleled in their muscular look. Unmatched in the feeling they deliver to the rider.
And now we’re proud to introduce the most powerful Harley-Davidson engines ever built: The all-new Milwaukee-Eight ™ 107 and Milwaukee-Eight ™ 114 engines. The next generation Harley-Davidson ® V-Twin comes to our touring line. The next era of power, performance and innovation has been forged. Dunlop® Multi-Tread™ Blackwall TiresThe 180mm back tire is engineered to do more than fill out the rear fender and put a bigger patch of rubber on the road.
Dunlop ® Multi-Tread ™ technology uses harder compounds at the center and softer on the sides for a tire that still knows how to knuckle down on corners. Perfect for making this bike agile on every curvy stretch of road.
And the way it feels going through an abrupt off-camber turn will put a grin on your face that’ll last to the next state line. Reflex™ Linked Brembo® Brakes with ABSNo doubt about it, there are times when you need to haul things down in a hurry. And you don’t get to pick those times. Or decide whether or not they occur when you’re on a flat, smooth, dry, perfect stretch of pavement. That’s why our touring models feature the Reflex ™ Linked Brembo ® Brakes with ABS.
ABS turns a locked-up front wheel or a rear wheel skid into a relic from riding’s history. And the front and rear brakes are electronically linked to provide exactly the right amount of brake to each tire no matter what the road condition is. No matter how good you are, this will make you a better rider. 6-Speed Cruise Drive® TransmissionYou want a ride that rumbles—not begs for mercy—when you lean on it a little.
The 6-Speed Cruise Drive ® Transmission provides smooth, quiet shifting and reduces engine speed on the highway, so you get a better match between engine turnover and road speed. And the Isolated Drive System makes acceleration flow in a smooth, steady stream from your wrist right down to the pavement. It’s a rare ride when a bike responds like this, and a low growl goes a long way when you’re opening up the road ahead. All-New Front and Rear SuspensionWe matched the all-new Milwaukee-Eight ™ engines in our touring line this year with a totally re-engineered dual bending valve front and rear suspension with easily-adjustable emulsion shocks. It’s lowered one inch to give you more comfort, more control and more confidence in your handling.
New rear shocks give you 15 to 30% more pre-load. They adjust with the turn of a single knob, no tools required. New, bigger pistons have more area than before for improved damping performance over the range of the suspension travel. This new fork technology improves the ride, especially over the harshest bumps, and reacts faster to keep the wheel planted for confident braking and handling. Boom!™ Box 6.5GT RadioLet’s start with this.
™ Box 6.5GT Radio puts out 25 watts per channel at 1% distortion and features a factory-tuned, optimized equalizer that pumps out more power and can be played louder while maintaining the clarity of your sound. And the speed tuning system delivers more than just volume changes at different speeds. It changes the level of bass and treble to dial in the best sound, whether you’re running at a stately pace down the strip or going hell for leather down an open stretch of road. How do you like the sound of a Harley ® motorcycle? Streamliner Footboards and Streamliner Passenger FootpegsThe Road Glide® Special motorcycle is outfitted with full-length Streamliner footboards, Streamliner passenger footpegs and a heel/toe shifter. The look is custom and the function is pure comfort. The footboards are rubber-isolation mounted to separate your feet from vibration.
And the heel/toe shift means easier, more comfortable shifting. It also saves wear and tear on the top of your left boot. Because now you can use your heel to shift to a higher gear.
Fairing Design Reduces Head BuffetingOver the years, riders of the Road Glide ® motorcycle have put in more miles behind its fairing than you could count with a supercomputer. Its fatigue-reducing fixed frame design has made the Road Glide ® motorcycle the choice of those who live to ride the big miles. It was good, but now it gets amazing. We went into the wind tunnel and out on the road to build the next Road Glide ®motorcycle fairing. When you experience what we came back with, you’re simply not going to believe the ride.
No fairing in the history of motorcycling has ever cut through the wind like this one does. It’s got triple splitstream vents that open and close to equalize pressure in front and behind the windscreen. In head-buffeting tests, it beats every other motorcycle on the road. You’ve never experienced a ride like this.

This new fork technology improves the ride, especially over the harshest bumps, and reacts faster to keep the wheel planted for confident braking and handling.
Streamlined Fairing, Saddlebags and Front FenderThe Road Glide ® Special motorcycle is loved by die-hard road warriors all over the world for its distinctive, menacing, mile-hungry look. And with good reason. Check out the modern, aggressive style and streamlined, narrow profile of the outer fairing. Unlocked original zte mf691 t mobile hsdpa 4g usb modem for mac. There’s clean trim on the windshield. A cut back front fender that shows off more of the wheel.
And saddlebags that give you a sleek, modern look without sacrificing luggage space. The end result is time-honored, badass, road-eating motorcycle design. The Road Glide Special wouldn’t have it any other way. Pure Harley-Davidson StylingYou can identify the all-new Milwaukee-Eight ™ 107 engine from 25 feet away. The racing scoop style of the air cleaner is all it takes to see that this is the new Harley-Davidson power plant. But when you look a little closer, you’ll notice that the things that are good about the authentic, air-cooled look of the Harley-Davidson ®V-Twin are alive and well.
It’s a jewel machined out of metal, head-heavy and narrow at the waist. Finned cylinders, of course. Dripping with power. The engine is the visual center piece of the bike. This one makes an ironclad statement about holding on to what’s right and staying true to what satisfies. Classic Fuel TankPart of the unmistakable style of the Harley-Davidson ® Road Glide ® Special motorcycle is plenty of room for showing off your paint. This classically styled, bold six-gallon fuel tank doesn’t just give you a bigger canvas for premium or custom paint; it holds six gallons of go so you can eat up a lot more road between pit stops.
We know fuel economy is important—but so is style. Sharp, eye-catching colors and precision-crafted Harley-Davidson ® tank medallions complete the unique look of this tough bagger. Lights (as per country regulation), Indicator Lamps High beam, running lights, front fender running lights, directional lights, low oil pressure, neutral, engine diagnostics, battery, cruise control, speakers, accessory, security system, gear indication, low fuel warning, ABS, miles to empty display, fog/aux lamp indicator.
Went to these florida shows, skipped the fox, duh.all were good but this one was the best for me. Just reaally good vibe and those dolphins,DANG!!!

I\'d like to say there would be a keeper from this one, but there really isn\'t.
Yeah, the second set is ridiculous, especially the Shakedown Franklin\'s, which is worth the download by itself.
The first set is pretty rockin\' too, with a real nice Candyman. The only lowpoint is the Lost Sailor Saint of Circumstance suite, which kind of drags. I guess Bobby had to be a rockstar because it doesn\'t seem like the band is into it. However, overall the band is kicking off real groovy, laid back vibes and Jerry is pretty much on fire, hitting his licks with precision. I don\'t know what they were on that night, but it was good.
Yeah, this is a sweet audience tape and a hot show (thanks for the list of other fine recordings to check out, Robert).I dig Bobby\'s riffing a la Richards in Alabama Getaway. And the sick transition between Shakedown and Franklins is.
Well, it\'s sick. It\'s wrong on a million levels. But it\'s right on one level and that\'s all that matters. Jerry takes the gloves off for the second solo in Franklin\'s and blows the rest of the band off the stage. And what\'s that? A Sugaree riff?
Dude reels it in and gracefully gives the band a fighting chance during his third solo.I miss Brent.sniff. (you know what I mean). Man, what a sweet sound!
Thank you Jim Wise! A truly great audience tape.
WHO NEEDS THE SOUNDBOARD?? IMO a nice crispy AUD like this one is far superior to any SBD.I agree w/ one of the earlier posts, the \'79-83 era is my current fav as well. As it was probably the least well represented era in my tape (remember those days?) collection. There are an incredible amount of amazing AUDs from this time period! The Shakedown - Franklin\'s is great!
Even a nice little vocal jam at the end of Shakedown. Hell the Dough Knees is freakin\' awesome! This whole show pretty much smokes! See for yourself. There is East Coast pep at this show as the audience tries to rhythmically clap on whatever it can keep time with.
Jerry\'s voice is real nice here, and he throws in some extra notes on intro\'s and transitions that just tell me he is having fun. I had to settle for\'Yes\'in the round which was very cool but it would delay my reckoning by a few years.
Frankly, I have no idea how this AUD recording could be so fine. The sound is awesome. You feel like you are actually there in the venue and yet the balance between crowd and band is perfect. This one reminds me that part of what makes the music is the audience. When the crowd breaks out at those critical spots (what a long strange trip its been, for example on Truck\'n) you can feel the band respond kind. WOW!!!The concert is tight and energized throughout.Just six more wordsDOWNLOAD IT, DOWNLOAD IT, DOWNLOAD IT. I would like to thank Wavey Davey for nailing it in his review. This show created this deadhead.
I still don\'t know why people call the venue Alligator Alley Gymnasium, it\'s simply the Florida Gymnasium and was where the men\'s basketball team played before the O\'Connell Center was built. It was a beautiful brisk night. My date and I started off this show in the bleachers above Phil\'s side of the stage with our own set of speakers which were tuned sweetly. The floor was one third chairs (up front) and two-thirds dance floor.
It was a sea of people, not standing and facing the stage, these folks were crazy, whirling dervs creating an undulating visual from our seats. I left my date to go to the men\'s room on the other side of the floor.
That was the last she saw of me. On the way back to my seat Mama Tried kicked in and I got swept away by the crowd.
Boy was she peaved and bored so I guess it was good thing she moved on soon after. THIS SHOW WILL SWEEP YOU AWAY!!! As Robert Hunter has been quoted as saying something to the effect that any \'tape\' of a show is just a miniscule artifact/replica of the actual experience. The really clean soundboards that come out are otherworldly, but the energy in this audience tape \'captures\' the essence of the real experience better than cleaner technologies.
Cleaner technologies take the show and mount it like an insect in perfect formaldehyde museum quality beneath the glass, but this show is still kicking, still buzzing, still flying, and it is everpresent. Enthusiasm is the word. Oh yeah baby - turn the f.
up. When I first started collecting tapes some 23 years ago (egads!), I had a copy of this night\'s second set.
It was like my 3rd cassette. I loved it then, and it still draws me in every time I hear it.While the entire show is top-notch, the defining moment for me is the Drums Space Other One. As a drummer/percussionist, this ranks as some of the best drums I\'ve ever heard the boys do. During Space, the drummers stay on stage and the group produces an improvisation that sounds perfectly rehearsed.
It\'s Twilight Zone material. There comes a point where everybody starts building and building up, Phil starts sliding up and down the neck, and then this burst of a volcano of sound emerges with LOTS of freakiness from Brent. Shiver Me Timbers! Then it gets nice and quiet, and Phil drops the intro bombs to The Other One, and we\'re off to the races. Brent startes ripping these lines on the Hammond B-3 like there\'s no tomorrow.
I\'ve listened to a lot of shows, but I keep coming back to this segment, because it is simply too enjoyable to keep on the shelf for very long.Oh, in the For What It\'s Worth department: I have a soundboard of the second set of this night. It\'s hissy and there are some pitch problems; the audience is MUCH better. I talked with David Gans about the entire November 1980 run a few years ago, and he claimed that no soundboards of the entire run existed in the vault. Well, they exist somewhere, as we have seen the emergence of SBD\'s from the 3 other shows during this run. If anybody REALLY wants a copy of the SBD version of this night, drop me a line, but you will not be as satisfied as you are with Jim\'s audience recording.Sean K. This is a great show! Just so very, very good.
1980 was a very good year. They were clearly firing on all cylinders here after their monster Warfield/Radio City runs and although this doesn\'t have an acoustic set, it still smokes-perhaps even more than any of the previous months shows. The crowd is clearly just as raucous and appreciative as any from Radio City. The entire 1st set is awesome, from the opening notes of Alabama all the way through.
Ahh, for the days when they\'d do Althea and SailorSaint in the 1st set. Lost Sailor was a great song, it\'s too bad Bobby dropped it but there are so many great versions from 1980 and this is one.
They sound so fresh here, it\'s hard to imagine the disintegration of Jerry that was already happening. Also, this tape is about as good as it gets, very clear and intimate. I think Phil sounds a little light in the mix because that\'s just how he came across in those days, more of a presence than a really clearly defined instrumental voice, but he definitely shows up in the 2nd with a nice intro to the Other One, and Stella Blue is just flat-out gorgeous. Oh yeah, the Drumz is blistering, too. You seriously just can\'t miss with this one. This is.hands down.
the best AUD recording I have ever heard. Kudos and a big thank you to Mr. And the performance is dripping with gooey goodness.Set 2 is on fire!
These are not the longest versions of these songs that you\'ll ever hear, but the Dead more than make up for it with balls-to-the-wall rock and roll. As the previous reviewer suggests, the Shakedown-Franklin\'s transition is something to behold. And Jerry wails on his solos. Get this show! Even if you\'re a SBD junkie (like me), you will not be disappointed!
