It might have to do with the mixer panel. The focusrite device is the selected input source in Preferences, so that's good (ideally Logic would just take system default setting for audio input and not try to override this with the webcam or any of the other ridiculous, perverse setting as the input source). All my preferences confirm that the program recognizes input and output sources, but when I try to record, nothing's happening.also input monitoring is selected, as well. 
Look right under the I/O and make sure that either input 1 or input 2 is selected. Hover your cursor and click down on it so that a drop down menu shows up, and select your input. I'm using Logic 9 with MAC OS X version 10.8.2. I also use the Duet 1. When I try to record a vocal I get a message from Logic that says, “ no input source selected”. I've checked the preferences in Logic and both the input and output are set to Duet. Also they are set correctly within the Maestro software for Duet. Any suggestions, please.
